Biology & Habitat
Member of the salmon family. Prefers to swim in the company of a school of fellow whitefish in gloomy, cool water. Dines on insects, freshwater shrimp, small fish, fish eggs, and bottom organisms. On average they reach 17 to 22 inches (43-56 cm) and weigh 1.5 to 4 pounds (0.7-1.8 kg).
